The idea
The Easle is a mobile pop-up shop in the style of a small newsstand on wheels that allows creatives to display & sell their artwork/ wares every Saturday and Sunday, featuring a different artist each week.
Who it helps and why
Lack of access to pop-up spaces and high fees for vendor markets limit artists; this project would allow artists to showcase their art/wares and connect with the community. Additionally, it would help support marginalized artists who are most affected by rising rent and cost of living. At this community-led pop-up shop, no one is turned away for lack of funds. How fun would it be to have a florist outside a T-stop one week and a ceramicist outside a coffee shop the next? Not only would this benefit artists, but it would also benefit the city as a whole by integrating artists into the Boston community who might not otherwise interact with them.
