The idea
"Sharing the road". Create outreach materials for presentation at public locations and events educating people on bikes, scooters, skates, cars, trucks, and public transportation on how to safely share Boston's streets and dedicated bike lanes.
Who it helps and why
Each year we mourn multiple deaths and injury due to collisions between human and hydrocarbon powered vehicles. Each day I see human powered vehicles without helmets, lights, or reflectors of any kind. With our large student populations (who may not be experienced urban riders) and the popularity of services such as Blue Bikes we need to educate riders and drivers to achieve a "no death" year.
