Every household gets a robust trash can for free or subsidized, with trash day guidelines. Too many landlords give have cheap flimsy trash cans that get trash all over the street. Ideally with attached lids.
Who it helps and why
Keeping trash off the sidewalks, and lids attached to sturdy cans keeps our sidewalks clearer for wheelchair users and makes sidewalks more pleasant in lower income areas where many residents put trash out in bags in the street.
