[link removed] An Example of Best practice for improving The City of Boston’s responsiveness to constituents sanitation… cleanliness ordinance compliance concerns
Who it helps and why
The project will advance social and racial equity by not allowing outside management companies and landlords to maintain substandard property conditions inthe City of Boston. Accountability is key. It is my understanding that 824/826/828 Blue Hill Avenue’s historically “problem property” is managed by a company located in Newton, MA. The current and historically abhorrent rat 🐀 infested …. conditions of the property would not be allowed for one hour in Newton, not to mention over the course of the 3 decades that I have experience the property conditions her in Dorchester… Boston, MA. Disrespect and disregard for neighbors who are striving to have a dignified neighborhood. I happened to be present when an officer from the Newton code enforcement rang the doorbell and questioned if a dresser on the side of the house belonged to anyone within the apartment. It did not. Yet the inspector, who arrive approximately an hour after the sanitation truck, warned if it was not moved within the next hour there would be legal consequences. Bedbug, worm 🐛 and mold infested mattresses have been on the above noted property here in Boston for well over 3 or more months. I do not believe Attorney… Mayor Wu nor veteran councilman Ed Flynn… would allow such filth to exist within their neighborhood, nor should we be subjected to this disparate treatment. Hold landlords accountable, management must vet and hold tenants accountable and install a camera 📷 on the property for surveillance to determine who is contributing to the unsanitary conditions. Implement the formerly enforced “clean it or lien it.” The current issuance of tickets is not a source of deterrence. Respectfully submitted, Sis. Cadrienne ❤️
