The idea
Set up a program where residents in the same neighborhood can volunteer to help other residents and their neighborhood. Tons of opportunities. People in the neighborhood should be the ones making the place better.
Who it helps and why
Brings neighbors together by making the neighborhood better. Figuring out how to work together is a skill a ton of people need. For example organize a day where people in the neighborhood along with business owners gather together to pick up the trash in the parks. Or to create a community soccer program. or basketball. Also yard work and snow removal can be done by people that need to learn English. They can do the service and then the elderly can help them by having multiple conversations with them so they can practice their English. More belonging needs to happen! Connection! Build a community where people talk to the people that live next door to them. It would also help with the loneliness crisis.
