The idea
A community pool in Allston/Brighton that is walkable and accessible for adults and children to swim and cool off.
Who it helps and why
Allowing all residents to stay safe during heat waves, engage in fun physical activity, and develop connections with neighbors. The disappearance of public pools is part of the legacy of racial segregation, resulting in unjust barriers to swimming for Black and brown communities that persist today.
