Trash containers in converted parking spaces to cut rats

The idea

Containerization has been shown to be a significant factor in reducing rodent activity. Much of the City continues to use bagged trash for trash collection. Would like to see greater containerization through conversion of parking to bins like in NYC.

Who it helps and why

This is a public health concern felt most prominently among denser neighborhoods in the City. Reducing the degree of loose trash would reduce rodent rates as well as other issues like toxic runoff, smell, and narrowed sidewalks for pedestrians due to space occupied by trash, sometimes spilled from broken open bags. While not all streets in the City have corresponding alleyways where trash collection is easiest, converting parking spaces would make more space available for this purpose and ease the ability of pedestrians to navigate sidewalks.
