The idea
Have a trolley that loops from JFK/Umass T station to Castle Island. This could be a seasonal shuttle (to pilot the program), or a year round thing. Redesign the Columbia Rd roundabout to be more bike and pedestrian friendly too, while you’re at it
Who it helps and why
It would cut down on the traffic in this area and it would address the parking problem (especially in the summer season, when the crowds and traffic are overwhelming). Less accidents too. The trolley/shuttle could be part of the MBTA (regular Charlie fair - as it was during Sail Boston parade of sails). Or it could be free through a city-private partnership with a sponsor.
