The idea
We have a solution to overcome all unconscious bias all humans have - build the World Unity Landmark showing the Sun Poem - Are you greater than the sun/that shines on everyone: Black, Brown, Yellow, Red and White/ the sun does not discriminate
Who it helps and why
All humans have unconscious bias. Laws, policies and technology cannot eliminate them. Individuals must remove them. The Sun Poem has been recognized by the Boston City Council in two resolutions as a powerful educational tool to help us see our common humanity, engage individuals in self-reflection to end prejudice and ignite change that must come from within. The World Unity Landmark will showcase the Sun Poem. A design concept for the landmark has been accepted to be part of the Dorchester Bay development. The Sun Poem is the heart of a TEDx Talk, Uncover and Overcome All Unconscious Bias and received over 70,400 views and 4,300 likes. The Sun Poem is featured in the talk and it is helping us bring the poem to a global audience. The poem was born in Boston and can advance social and racial equity by empowering all individuals to become more self-aware and overcome their bias and grow, personally and professionally. Einstein said, "You cannot solve a problem with the same conscious that created it. You must stand on a higher ground." The Sun Poem can take people to the higher ground. World Unity Inc. has been dedicated to this mission to build the World Unity Landmark that will bring the Sun Poem alive! The message is timeless, universal and transformative. It's needed now more than ever. Thank you for your time and consideration.
