Who it helps and why
My project advances social and racial equity by ensuring that health and wellness resources are accessible, inclusive, and culturally responsive—especially to historically marginalized communities. Many individuals from Black, Brown, and under-resourced backgrounds face barriers to healthcare, mental health services, and preventive wellness support due to systemic racism, economic inequality, and lack of representation in care spaces. By centering these communities in the design and delivery of wellness initiatives, this project creates safe, affirming, and empowering spaces where people can heal, learn, and grow. It also amplifies diverse voices and lived experiences, recognizing that true wellness looks different for everyone. This project prioritizes education, access, and empowerment, ensuring that the benefits of wellness are not just available to a privileged few, but equitably distributed. It helps to close health gaps, reduce stigma, and restore trust in wellness systems that have historically excluded or harmed people of color. Ultimately, this work is about justice—because health and wholeness should not depend on race, zip code, or income.
