The idea
Create an interactive map and guide to every single green space in Boston where one can enjoy shade trees and grass, neighborhood by neighborhood, with nearby transit connections. Call it "The Boston Green Atlas" or similar.
Who it helps and why
As demand for outdoor recreation soars and our summers grow hotter, the Boston Green Atlas will put reliably cooler and activated spaces within closer reach of every person in Boston; including residents in neighborhoods which have been impacted by environmental racism and still have to deal with the effects of heat islands. An interactive atlas for all our city green spaces would also compliment the city's plan to expand Boston's tree canopy in the coming years.
