The idea

Currently Allston-Brighton does not have a needle/sharps drop off location. Currently we are the only neighborhood without a disposal. This project would fund efforts to provide 1-2 drop off locations across the 02134 and 02135 zip codes.

Who it helps and why

This project can support a range of folks facing medical challenges, IVF, or anyone needing medication on a regular basis. Allston Brighton is home go a range of diverse communities, based on ethnicity, generation, and health. So many of our neighbors use medication that requires a syringe or needle. Without proper disposal, these syringes either remain at home or folks turn to disposing them in the trash which runs a high risk of injuring sanitation workers.
